Blouse: Zara / Skirt: Asos / Shoes: Christian Louboutin / Belt: Stella McCartney / Hair: Made by my mother
I love this outfit. It contains all the key elements of classic chic: The white blouse, the midi, nude heels, and an accessory to add some interest, such as this gold plated belt.
It also has an easy feeling when I am wearing it. The skirt is soft and comfortable, and the length ensures I don’t need to worry it will expose anything when sitting down or bending (which happens a lot when you have toddlers).
Modest Girls everywhere, take note: The Midi is back (and has been for a while), and it seems we have hit the tznius / modest fashion jackpot. This length oozes femininity and sophistication, and should be worn in pencil or full cut. Pair it with a button down blouse or a simple shell, and a pair of heels, and you will instantly look like a page out of Audrey Hepburn’s insanely chic book.
But there’s more to the allure of this skirt than just the girly elegance it so blatantly exudes; it gives us a real taste of fantasy and drama. When you don the Midi, it is so reminiscent of Old Hollywood glamour, and the glossy spreads in fashion magazines, that your ensemble instantly feels…extraordinary.
And so I hunted down a few options for your own fabulous wardrobe escapades. Happy shopping!
Shirt: Zara / Skirt: Asos / Necklace: Ruti Horn / Shoes: Pierre Hardy : Sunglasses: Prada I’m going to initiate a weekly Friday post and I’m calling it, as you can see, Thank G-d It’s Modest (or more aptly named T.G.I.M.) and I’m sure the play on words is not lost on you (TGIF?).
I traveled to Long Island for the weekend and it is a nice change from Brooklyn. There is an eiruv here, meaning we can carry on Shabbos, and I love it because I can take my kids for a walk and to the park. In Brooklyn it’s a problem pushing my stroller according to the laws of Shabbos, because of the lack of an eiruv.
Anyway on to the fun stuff…
I love this outfit, and I think the leather skirt and button down shirt meld together so beautifully.
The Ruti Horn necklace is everything. It’s so charming and I have been waiting for the perfect outfit to don it. As for the heels, they are very on trend, and the ankle strap is being shown everywhere. And for good reason; it is the epitome of minimalist chic.
