It has been raining for two days, and it is very, very wet outside. Nature’s nurturing aside, it is safe to say that most of us find the rain an obstacle of sorts. It can put a damper on any modest fashionista’s mood and render our most fabulous outfits useless. The end result can oftentimes be the most dreary of ensembles and tired of wardrobe choices, sabotaging our fashion inspiration.
Yet with all of the rain’s faults aside, it can also provoke a romance and drama that the fashion-clad can play up, with no real sartorial sacrifice necessary (although I would nix the suede shoes and fur coat). It is a beautiful backdrop that begs for some brooding; all you really need is your umbrella. A wet street and a dark sky is fashion fodder for the style constituents who embrace a varying temperament and take the opportunity to try an enigmatic sentiment on for size. So while you’ve been enduring a near-constant downpour, I have been compiling a modest miscellany of rainy day fashion to inspire the style in all of us.
